5-25-13 Napoleon is Deaf, (Napoleon Bonaparte) and comes into rescue as an owner surrender from TN. Date of Birth: 11-23-11. The owner felt that they were not able to provide a happy environment for Napoleon. They want the best for him, and they went out of their way to bring him across multiple state lines and into rescue. He is 1.5 years old and weighs 40 pounds. We were told that he likes other dogs, yet we will give him a few days before we start the introductions.

I had the privilege to walk Napoleon while I visited the Ranch while Mark walked Tupper. He seems a bit depressed so Monica suggested I take him for a walk, Napoleon perked up on his walk and seemed to enjoy himself! He responded well to being asked not to pull while on leash and when I jogged with him, he was right there with me smiling. Napoleon I wish you the best and hope you understand that you are safe and with people who care about you. Sometimes the newbies take a while to adjust, but he’s in the best hands to help him through his transition. Don’t feel sad or sorry for him, the positive happy vibes are what make him show that heeler smile 🙂 & that is what he’s getting at the Ranch!

Thank You, Corene, for working with Napoleon. We continued on with Sue (Chicago) taking him for walks while she was here too. He does like the interaction. Yet, it also made him brave enough to show that he doesn’t want to be put into his crate sometimes. At least now we are getting it addressed and out of the way, hopefully.

I’m so sad that this boy is still in rescue. He is such a sweet boy. He LOVES to play fetch and has got along with the other dogs in rescue that I have had the opportunity to observe him with. He has a lovely coat and is striking looking.
